Recalled Clogs and Earrings

Two children’s products were just recalled by the CPSC, so be sure to spread the word on the following:

Disney Sleeping Beauty Crown and Cinderella Star Earring Sets (200 Units)

Sold At: Wal-Mart stores in Florida, Feb. 07 – June 07
Manufactured: China
Hazard: High levels of lead.
Action: Take the recalled jewelry away from children immediately and return to Uncas Manufacturing Co. for a refund

Children’s Airwalk® Compel Shoes, (690,000 Units)

Including: (Sizes 3 through toddler 10) in character themes Spongebob Squarepants, Dora the Explorer, Hello Kitty, Coasters (r) Lighted Car Compel, and Cambridge Mary-Jane.
Sold At: Payless ShoeSource and Pamida stores nationwide, including Payless.com from August 06- April 07 for approximately $13
Manufactured:

Hazard: Plastic rivets used to attach the strap to the shoe can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children.
Action: Take the recalled shoes away from children and return to location purchased for full refund.

    I thought I’d note that the clog warning also extends into Canada where 3,000 shoes have been recalled.

    I heard there was a recall on Hasbro’s “easy bake” ovens too. Kids are getting their fingers trapped in the door and have had burns as well. Is this really an appropriate toy for an 8 year old (appropriate for ages 8 and up)?
