The Big Boys Room – Space Theme for the Bash Brothers
July 25th 2007 by Dr.MOZ in Childrens Rooms, Fun Projects
Dear Dr.MOZ,
I’m a mother of two toddlers (boys) and I’m about to have my “third” son very soon. Our boys are currently sharing a small room, but they are about to move into a newly renovated room dubbed the “Big Boy Room.” We have agreed on giving the room a “space” theme, but my husband and I are afraid they’ll destroy any furniture or space art we put in it. What do you think…any leads?
Sincerely,
3timesMom

Hello 3timesMom,
Ah yes, the destructible duo! I think I have a few ideas that will help help the bash brothers burn off a little steam and achieve an out-of-this-world space theme. Here are the ingredients:
1) Spaceframe Sculpture Kit
This cool kit is made of safe and recyclable polyester material that will be hours of building fun. There are no limits to the cool space ships and alien formations they can design with the 20 individual blocks and it is totally “bash proof”. (Available at mimmo store)
2) Make a Paper Mache Solar System
There’s nothing more fun for kids than getting covered in goo and paint and you’ll only be
out a few balloons, glue, and flour if things eventually get out of hand in their new digs! Once the paint on your planets are dry, you can hang them from the ceiling for that cool space effect your sons are sure to love. And who knows, they may even learn to take better care of their hand-made art considering the love they put into their designs. Yes…I was trying not to laugh when I wrote that. (To the Paper Mache Recipe – To the Paper Mache Planet Directions)
3) Rocky Rocket
This well-designed rocker is a real kid-magnet and should be able to take a lick’n. You’ll appreciate the features including protective strips on the rockers (for reducing noice and slipping), realistic sounding rumbling engine sounds, and adjustable rockers to allowing for the rocket to grow with your child. (New to the US and on sale at A Rocking Horse To Love)
Good luck creating your new world 3timesMom and tell your space travelers that Dr.MOZ says hello!
Yours,
Dr.MOZ

I wish they made the Rocky Rocket in adult sizes…I’d get rid of my office chair and sit in it while typing at work.
