The G-LiTE Umbrella Stroller: Tough, Affordable, Awesome Design!
August 14th 2007 by Dr.MOZ in Strollers, Dr.MOZ Approved, New Parents
Dear Dr.MOZ,
We bought a cheap umbrella stroller and ended up using it a lot more than we thought we would. In a nutshell, we destroyed it in under six months. Any recommendations for a light umbrella stroller that can take a lot of abuse? I’d pay a little more for something that will last, but we would prefer portability and price to attachments and gizmos.
Thanks,
Daddy Rolls

Hi Daddy Rolls,
I have just the umbrella stroller for you. The G-LiTE by UPPAbaby is a mere 9.3 pounds (8.3 w/out the pad) and you’ll get all the wizbang gizmos you can handle for only $99! The G-LiTE’s features include:
- Tough aluminum frame, shoulder strap
- Hand level opening triggers (no foot action needed)
- Folds up and stands for convenience
- Machine washable seat pad
- Extra wide wheels and tires
- Elevated rear frame and long handles (no toe-stubs)
- Front wheel suspension (smooth riding)
- $99 + s & h from FlyingPeas.com
UPPAbaby is an American start-up (less than a year old) and they are already proving to be true contenders with Bugaboo and other stroller heavyweights. Want to check out the G-LiTE or the larger VISTA in person? Visit one of their retailers, or stroll on over to the UPPAbaby warehouse/headquarters to test on for yourself if you are in the Rockland, MA area. Thanks for the question Daddy Rolls and stay cool out there!
Have fun and stay healthy,
Dr.MOZ
