Weekend Parent Poll: Do You Use Tummy Tubs and Inflatable Baby Spas?
September 8th 2007 by Dr.MOZ in Baby Products, Bath and Water Safety, Strange Products
We’ve seen quite a few portable bath tubs working their way around the baby blogs over the past 12 months, and a recent post by blogger swissmiss made we wonder just how popular these really are. What do you think parents…are you using these tubs and baby buckets?
Let us know what you think of the various tubs and inflatable spas by clicking on comments bubble above. Examples of just a few include:
The Tummy Tub: (see left) the original see-though bucket sold as a baby bather was “created” in the Netherlands and marketed as a safe and practical way to give your baby a bath. It claims to be excellent for colicky babies which makes sense considering a warm bath can be an effective way to soothe a baby. On the other hand, it also claims to be useful for children 0-3 years old. I’ve never met a 3 year-old that would fit in this bucket, but it might be great for babies. Now available in Canada and the US through CheekyMonkey.ca
The Inflatable Baby Spa: a strange and interesting tub “for the munchkin on the go” as seen on swissmiss. The same concept as the Tummy Tub, but the inflatable baby spa has no slip tread and a plug for drainage. Designed for babies 0-12 months and found online at TheKidsStore.com.
So what do you think of these portable bath products folks? Are you using buckets, portable spas, bathtub inserts, or do you just look for the nearest sink? Click the bubble above to let us know what you think.
Have a great weekend!

That bucket is a crack up Doc! I suppose it would work as well as any baby tub. We use an inflatable duck that we put in the bath tub. It has a temp safety feature which is nice.
