Why use a pacifer at all. The last thing you need, is having to wean a child off a pacifer. I see too many 3-4year olds still sucking on pacifers, that can’t be good for there teeth and gums.

Throw it in the dishwasher. That’s simple and works. My kids are still kicking after 10 years.

Is it bad that I don’t even use water to wipe off the pacifier. After a few kids it just doesn’t seem that important anymore.

Apple cider vinegar with hot water should kill a lot of the bugs on the pacifier.

Yeah, hot water rinse would kill few germs and as much as possible change it every 3 months.

I think pacifier sterilisers are the go. Mumspit/Dadspit whatever you wanna call it, is just that….spit, it has no cleaning abilties. I am sure you don’t wash your cutlery by putting it in your mouth, so why spit clean your babies pacifier. Why dont you lick the toilet instead of using disinfectant. Toilet seats are only for your bum, but you seem to take care more of your bum than your babies mouth!! Sterilisers are there for a reason…..to be used not ridiculed. Ignorance is a bliss hey!!!

Pacifiers, when in use, are always full of germs. A wipe with apple cider vineger and a simple hot water rinse would seem to me to kill a few germs, since I haven’t heard of pacifier germs killing any babies.

You know Brad, there is a product called “momspit” on the market. Perhaps you could get the eastbaydads lined-up and start bottling “dadspit”….the cleaning system “strong enough for a man, but gentle enough for the pacifier”.

I’m not a mom so my saliva doesn’t cut through tar, but I usually just stuck the thing in my mouth to clean it. The kids are still alive so I guess I did no harm. And much cheaper than a sterilization system.
