Consumers Union: The Twelve Days of Safe Shopping Effort

November 13th 2007 by Dr.MOZ in Family Health, Dangerous Toys, Family Safety

Get the Lead Out!I received an email from the non-profit group Consumers Union hoping to get the word out about their Twelve Days of Safe Shopping educational program, and I thought Dear Dr.MOZ readers might be interested.

The CU team recently put together a “Get the Lead Out This Holiday Season” safe shopper kit including a retailer demands coupon books, stickers, and information about the effort.

In their words:

In a few select cities across the country we are planning to hold larger events throughout the Twelve Days of Safe Shopping. At these larger events we will have a CU staff person, a group of 10-20+ safe shoppers wearing “Get the Lead Out” tee-shirts, meeting up with local media and handing out coupons to other people who are hitting the shops. Those cities where we are heading are Boston, NYC, Chicago, Minneapolis, and San Francisco.

That said, consumers who don’t live in the major areas can still join up and be Safe Shoppers at their local shops and malls.

Additional information can be found online at NOTinMyCart.org or onCU’s “Not In My Cart” MySpace page, so visit the CU team today to learn more and tell them Dr.MOZ sent ya!

Have fun and stay healthy,
Dr.MOZ
