Pupsik Studio: Stylish New Baby Pouch Carriers & Nursing Ponchos!
January 4th 2008 by Dr.MOZ in Baby Carriers, Baby Shower Gifts, New Parents
I was making my rounds through some of my favorite baby blogs during lunch today and I made a great discovery at the Pupsik blog. Su Ling (blogger and mom of baby Vera) launched the Pupsik Studio which makes baby pouch carriers and nursing ponchos! In addition to offering stylish new baby carriers, they also offer a few great babywearing safety tips including:
- Check the seam for wear and tear before using.
- Ensure that the baby is positioned deep in the fold of the pouch before letting go.
- Support your baby when leaning or bending over.
- Allow good airflow to your baby’s face.
- (click for more safety tips at the Pupsik Studio)
Baby wearing is a great way to bond with your baby and the Pupsik carriers would be a great baby shower gift, so visit Pupsik Studios and tell her that Dr.MOZ said hello!
Have fun and stay healthy,
Dr.MOZ

Wouldn’t carrying a kid like that put a huge strain on your back?

Hi Jane, am glad I checked back this post to see your question! I personally find that slings and pouches are perfect for children up to 20lbs ( although we have actually tested the Pupsik pouch with a certified body for being able to safely carrying weights up to 35lbs ).
Vera is now 23 lbs and I still carry her in a Pupsik pouch. However , as a baby grows bigger, some may find it a bit difficult to carry a baby/toddler for extended periods in a pouch or sling carrier. In that case, I would actually recommend a carrier that distributes weight evenly on two shoulders. =)
Hope that answers your question. If you have any other queries, you can email me at hello@pupsikstudio.com.

Wearing your baby is wonderful. It is a short precious time in life for mom and baby – dad too if he’ll wear baby ^^. I still wear my 13 months old in the sling or hammock on my hip. Both of my boys are confident, inquisitive and fairly well-mannered for their age. If any bit of this can be attributed to having been worn, then that too is a bonus. Good luck and enjoy!

I have seen some moms wearing something like this, and I found myself wishing I had been so lucky as to have had one when my children were babies.

Great idea for carrying babies! I love that it frees up your hands, except when you bend forward or backward, of course. The design is very nice too.

These nursing ponchos are great for moms on the move. I wish my sister in law had used these more with her babies.

I thought that these types of carriers would hurt me or the baby, I got one with my last child, and I love them! I give them as gifts to everyone now. I like the new colors, and styles. If you have ever thought about using them, think no more, just get one, they are awesome!

I absolutely love these! Babywearing is such a great way to bond with your child while still getting stuff done! I don’t know how people manage without these days. It’s just so worth it.

One of our good friends had one and swears by it. We went to the local harvest festival last year and the baby was along for the ride. At one point he got fussy and she was able to feed him with almost no effort.
I think these were more common many years ago, but it’s good that they are coming back into style (excepted in our society). They really do help the bonding process.
