Wall Art for Kids: Decals Gone Wild!
January 10th 2008 by Dr.MOZ in Nursery, Artsy Fartsy, Childrens Rooms
In case you haven’t noticed, children’s wall art has really evolved in recent years. Ready-made wallpaper art can be put-up in less than an hour, and the vinyl designs are up in just minutes! I hate to say it, but dad’s abstract interpretations of Disney characters playing random sports may be a thing of the past. Don’t blame the moose, blame the following:
- Inke’s Silhouettes: The Dutch designer Inke Heiland creates fun DIY kits using recycled vintage wallpaper Tree: This tree silhouette includes 5 trunk pieces, 84 leaves, paste, a brush, and instructions. Purchase it alone or with a pair of bird silhouettes at Enfant Terrible (Canada). Animals: From giraffes to ostriches, you’re little animal lovers will go wild over the choices available at romp (USA).
- Vinyl Wall Art: Yes, that’s actually the name of this Utah-based company. Check out their incredible inventory of wall art for kids and adults!
- One Up Wall Graphics: Wildlife is great, but what if you wanted to expose your children to the classics? Fortunately, One Up Designs has you covered with their retro geek Alien Attack wall graphic now available on Etsy.
Let me know if I missed one of your favorite designs by clicking on the comments button above.
Have fun and stay healthy,
Dr.MOZ

These seem great and easy to change the style up every few months. But to be honest, a little pricey for designing a kids room no?

Hey there KidBlogger! The kits that include vintage wallpaper are definitely pricey, but decals from Vinyl Wall Art are as low as $3 a piece depending on the design and size. It’s certainly is more than a can of paint, but less than your average Playkids Playset.

You can also use adhesive wall lettering to add inspiring phrases or quotes to a child’s room. Check out the custom lettering design tool at JavaSigns.com which allows you to create and order the decals right on the site.

There is an australian website that has removable wall stickers at muralize.com.au. They are not your typical over-done Disney style sticker. They are quite detailed scenes of fairies, dinosaurs, and underwater.
