I think it’s a shame that you find such information only after you inquire about your furniture upgrade!. I wanted to convert my son’s crib to “big boy bed” so i needed the converter set with rails. While searching for these items, I learn that there is a re-call. I purchased my furniture in August 2006. My son chewed the top of his crib while in his teething stage. I actually called to have replacement/touch up paint for this. Still now, NO ONE notified me of this re-call. I am a very unhappy, concerned parent. I will be having my son tested.

“No injuries have been reported…” I hope it stays that way. When babies are involved, everyone should be vigilant especially the manufacturers so that a thing like this will not happen again.

Scary to think that these could still be in use around the country especially since there are babies involved. The comment about the garage sales scares me the most since those people would be clueless to the saftety dangers of the used crib they just picked up….

I bought one and did not know until recently that it was recalled – the manufacturer only sends ‘fix kit’ – so it is not really a ‘recall’ of 20,000+ cribs. I must say that after paying $700 and get this kind of crap is really annoying.

That is kind of scary when you think about the number. Not easy to recall these as it normally gets sold off and borrow to other people once the baby is old enough to have their own bed.

Thanks for posting all of these numbers. I hate to think how many of these will be resold in garage sales or in general just not come out of “circulation”. It is a difficult and expensive task for a company to pick them up. Right now I am thinking of baby furniture that is not imported with higher quality standards. Further I am now a fan of unfinished furniture for babies since they will be gnawing on it.
