Ride Like Hermes with the Windrider Bicycle Clip
August 20th 2008 by Dr.MOZ in Bicycles, Toddler Products
Most parents will agree that nothing can ruin a good pair of pants quite like a bike chain can. If the grease doesn’t immediately stain the legs, they’re sure to get caught (and chewed-up) before the sun goes down. My prescription for chewed pant syndrome…the
Windrider bicycle clip. Not only will these winged warriors save your kids’ pants, they just might help save your kids because they are made of reflective material! ($15 at the Conron Shop)
- Update: After writing the post, I noticed that Windriders are made of PVCs. For a PVC-free version and a fun project, you may want to buy a piece of velcro strip for $2.69 and add your own homemade wings!
Have fun and stay healthy,

that looks like really useful, i love to ride myself, and i could actually see myself use this… looks like tiny wings on your ankle though, but it will do..

I showed this to my 10 year old and his reaction was “No Way Dad!” Maybe a design for older kids is needed as well.

wait..I’m an older kid! lol…actually I’ve been using rubber bands and often they break at some point or another during my ride. this gives me a good idea of what i need!

Those clips are so much cooler looking than the regular velcro ones.

The clips looks very tidy and neat.. but will it make us , the user feel a little bit uncomfortable when the pants is no more adjustable during cycling?

Good post, I like your writing style! I’ve added http://deardrmoz.com/ to my feed reader, and will be reading your posts from now on. Just a quick question – did you design your header image yourself, or have it done professionally? If you had it done by a professional, who was it?

Those are some sweet pant clips. Kids may not actually go for them (how many kids actively worry about keeping their pants clean anyway?), but there’s definite bike geek appeal there for those of us trying to stay young and keep our clothes intact.
