I can’t remember seeing so many fantastic collections of free Halloween recipes, so I wanted to share a few recent favorites. It’s easy to find fun dessert recipes for Halloween, so today’s collection includes spooky appetizers and meals to help offset the sweets.
- Eyeball Caprese: Here’s an exotic appetizer with a spooky twist! Follow this step-by-step recipe with pictures for a new family favorite. (recipe by Evil Mad Scientist)
- Melon Brain: All it takes is a seedless melon, a vegetable peeler, and a knife to create a creepy melon brain like this! (more at FamilyFun.com)
- Halloween Mummy Dogs: What kid wouldn’t love to start Halloween night with a mummy dog?! This kid-friendly recipe will take approximately 20 minutes total. (recipe at Smarter Babies & Kids Blog)

As a nutrition professional, you make me proud, Dr. Moz! Thank you for highlighting some fun halloween treats that contain nutrients for growing bodies. Do your best to fill your little goblins up with nutrient filled meals before sinding them out to trick or treat.
