Sakura Adachi: CAVEs for Pets and Kids

Unless you spend a lot of time scouring through designer magazines and blogs, chances are good that you haven’t yet seen Sakura Adachi’s fun spin on the traditional bookcase. CAVE_pets is Adachi’s one-sided bookcase designed with a special space for your furry friends. CAVE_kids is a larger two-sided bookshelf with a built-in seat and an overhead light for reading. This kind of makes you wish you knew how to work that skill saw in the garage doesn’t it? Check out some of his other inspirational designs at sakurah.net.

What a fantastic bookshelf for kids. This is inspiring. My kids just love finding places to crawl, and this kind of spot might also drive them to actually want to pick up more books and read.

That is so cool! I have never seen such a thing. I think it would definitely make a good conversation piece in the living room!

How original! .. fabulous bookcase hideaway for dogs and cats, especially for apartments. Just when you think there aren’t any new ideas, something like this comes along.

i am looking for good designs for my new home and i can find one here with cute and neat bookshelf as a mini library. thanks for the wonderful picture and idea.
