Baveo: Baby Blog and Registry in One!
April 9th 2009 by Dr.MOZ in Blogs, New Parents, Tech and Web
I’ve only featured a few of the many baby blogging platforms for new and expecting parents over the past few years (see below), because some just aren’t designed to well enough to make parents’ lives easier. Every now and then I’ll see one that really gets it, which leads to today’s feature Baveo!
They’ve only been open to the public for a few weeks now, but I think they’re the blogging platform to watch based on the easy-to-use features and partners already assembled. Not
only does Baveo make it easy to invite family and friends to share photos/video/text updates, it also provides a registry tool used for sharing information from twelve major retailers. Want to use a custom domain name? Baveo allows it. Looking for the ability for users to subscribe for updates by SMS, email, and RSS? Baveo can do that as well. What about privacy, can parents limit access to their Baveo pages by password? Yup.
So, you’ve probably decided that a service like this is going to be way too expensive. Actually, it’s 100% free and you won’t see ads in your baby pages either. You’ll see a few graphic ads in the set-up pages, but it’s not like you’ll see a Dr.MOZ ad on your baby’s head or anything…unless you want to, maybe we can work something out (kidding). Check out www.Baveo.com to set-up your baby blog in 60 seconds or less, and don’t forget to come back and let me know what you think!
Have fun and stay healthy,

That baby site looks pretty cool, I see baby blogging becoming a big trend and this site is in the right position for it. I have just signed up to check it out further. Thanks.

This would be great if you had relatives that live far away and want to see the baby grow up.

That’s a great idea combining both ideas. I had read about the site in a magazine and tried it. It’s a wonderful site. Very easy to use.

@ Jimmy: It’s not a social networking site/service like Facebook, but it does enable parents to easily post updates and media by computer or phone. If you are an expecting parent interested in keeping people up-to-date, I’d say that Baveo is a better method for doing it because it doesn’t force your friends and relatives to join a social network to view the material (like Facebook does).

Baby blogging is big business on the Web, and Baveo, which has been in private beta since last October and previously featured as a trendy tool for capturing baby memories, is opening up its doors to all new and expectant parents that are ready to hop on the bandwagon of baby-driven social media sharing.

Great one! Will sign up for it when I have my own baby and share it with all the mothers whom take pride in their child.
