Fruit and Vegetables by Disney Garden?
May 6th 2009 by Dr.MOZ in Food Fun, Healthy Kids
Thanks to the produce marketing company Imagination Farms, you can now find Disney licensed characters on fruit and vegetables in supermarkets around the country. You read that right, they’re actually going healthy with over 250 “Disney Garden” foods including potatoes, spinach, broccoli, organic apples, and dozens more. According to a recent Washington Post report, Disney ended it’s McDonald’s Happy meal contract three
years ago and has been going green since that time.
What you do think parents? Will your kids be more likely to reach for an avocado with Zac Afron on the package, or an organic apple with Winnie the Pooh stickers? Click on the comment bubble above to leave a comment.
Have fun and stay healthy,

This is indeed a very good product since our kids will be eating vegetables now!

I actually do think my kids would be more interested because of the packaging – I hate to admit that, but kids just love that kind of stuff! I’m personally no a proponent of marketing schemes, but at least this one has a quality product (ie. organic food) behind it. I’d buy it, if my kid got excited about eating his veggies because of it.

Great!. This “Fruit and Vegetables by Disney Garden” can encourage our children to eat vegetables as well as they love the character being used in the packaging. It is very interesting.

These could be very attracted to kids because of the packaging. I hope that more kids will eat vegatables now since its very nutritious and delicious for our body.

My 4 year old son already loves eating the Disney packaged apples. The Disney packaging attracts more kids to eating the fruits and vegetables, which is great, because they are healthy. Thanks for a great post.

This is a phenomenal idea! Yes I do believe kids will be more attracted to apples or oranges, etc, with the Disney marked packages. A good way to get kids to eat healthier. Good marketing.

Well as long as I think. Disney is one of the most popular channels among the kids ( even among the elders ). So I think these are very cool products and will surely attract kids. Besides everything, the fruits and vegetables are looking very very beautiful inside those cute boxes.

My kids love their fruits and most of their vegetables. But I could see their excitement to eat them bumped up a few notches seeing their favorite cartoon characters on the packaging. It’s amazing what these companies do to improve sales, but if it helps kids stay healthy I am all for it! I just wish there was a better effort to make toys safe for kids.

My kids love their fruit. I cannot even buy fresh fruit and cut it up, they know the difference. If it takes Disney to help me with my kids that’s fine with me at least they get their fruits and vegetables that way. Ha! Ha!

This is such a clever way for encouraging children to eat the right food. I am always trying to get me little one to eat his 5 a day.

Hey, I think this is great! ….my kids are all about what is on the box/carton, that’s for sure. I think it will help those little stubborn toddlers who eat only what they want to.
Go Disney!

My kids love these things and so do I.

I think kids would be more prone to want their parents to buy these items, but as far as getting them to eat it, I’m not too sure. The food is still the same no matter how it’s packaged. I’m fortunate in the way that my kids always loved fresh fruits and vegetables. I didn’t need fancy packaging to make them eat it.

It’s a clever idea to make vegetables fun, I guess.
I suppose it could work since, let’s face it, what kid doesn’t love their disney characters?

To get your kids to eat fruits and vegetable is tell them Mickey told them to. Great idea. I’m getting tired of throwing away or fighting to get my child to eat all her dinner.

Absolutely great idea – as long as the kids will eat it.

I think little people who don’t normally eat their fruits or veggies may be persuaded if they see fun characters on the package. My kids are great fruit and veggie eaters already, thank goodness!

Kids for generations have grown up with Disney characters. It is a brand recognized as greatly as McDonalds. Children, for better or worse, seem to be growing up with happy meals and McDonalds play areas and it seems to work for them. At least Disney’s name branding will bring healthier choices for children with their vegetable product line.

I think this is another brilliant idea form the Disney marketing people. Anything that makes kids eat more healthier food gets my vote. this kind of initiative should catch on and hopefully kids will start to realise that fruit and vegetables are good for you.

I agree with the above comment, It is a great idea from Disney marketing office. Kids these days don’t eat enough fruit so this in my opinion is a great idea. I love the packaging too.

This is a great idea, it seems like kids always want parents to buy the foods with Disney characters on them like they think the foods will taste better.

Mhh, if it would be so easy. My son needs more then a cartoon to love fruit, but he loves to see Mickey Mouse everyday
