Strange Baby Products: Why Cry Baby Analyzer

July 14th 2009 by Dr.MOZ in Geeky Fun, Strange Products, Tech and Web

I know what you’re thinking…it’s been ages since I’ve featured a useful and affordable “must have” baby invention for new parents. I’m afraid you’ll need to try again tomorrow because today’s strange and interesting find is the Why Cry Baby Analyzer now available for $100 on Amazon! This gadget monitors your baby’s cry to tell you if she is hungry, tired, bored,

stressed, or annoyed. I’m not sure what the monitor will do if the baby is annoyed from hunger or cries for a variety of other possible reasons, but it is advertised to be over 90% effective (according to Amazon.com description) when used in conjunction with a provided symptoms chart.

I’m always shocked at how often you love the products that I poke fun at, so here’s your chance to stick-up for the Why Cry Baby Analyzer. What do think folks, would you buy this baby gadget for yourself or a friend? Click on the comment bubble to open the comment box below.

Have fun and stay healthy,

Count me out. Seriously, have people gone so low to require technology to tell them why their baby is crying?

  2. felicia Says:

wow seriously??? what is this world coming to?!?!?!??!?!?

  3. I Says:

WoW i really need that for my baby, its very cool i love this..

  4. kurnia Says:

Cool stuff, but mother’s touching still the best way to handle crying baby

  5. jibran ayun Says:

I completely agree with Harley Gibson, who in the world is so lame to use this device!
If you want to use technology you are better off not giving birth to a child!

  6. cacholog Says:

wow i liked it but i am getting some doubts on it i mean it is really a wonderful tool but still it could have some limitations!

  7. Martha Says:

Technology is indeed making parenting easier than ever. I would love to have Why Cry Baby Analyzer too. And if it is really capable of analyzing baby cry, well, the $100 price is a good deal.

  8. Paula Says:

I think it’s cool especially if you have a big house. You may need to go to another room to do some work while the baby is in the crib asleep. It can help.

  9. Jess Says:

I am not sure about this kind of stuff, but i will buy it one! Maybe it can help me with my babies!

  10. dave Says:

Really, that was an amazing invention. Another creation from great people with great minds. I wonder how they did it? Amazing really, can’t help wondering how it was done.

  11. markus Says:

it seems a very cool gadget my wife knows the crying of our baby but when she goes to office for sometimes then i feel some problem to understand my baby now i will definitely get this gadget!

  12. H Says:

I just cant stop wondering why in the world would any one buy this device? I have 5 kids and I never needed any device that tells me why is my baby crying because I am a good mother and I am proved of it!

  13. emo Says:

Thanks, Dr. Moz for this post.

  14. Jessica Breastfeeding Hannah Says:

This is certainly a strange baby product. I think new mothers will be more apt to buy something like this than experienced mothers who understand what their baby’s cries mean.

  15. Sam Williams Says:

    whatever happened to grandparents ?

  16. alex Says:

Really a nice post and this is certainly a strange baby product. I think new mothers will be more apt to buy something like this than experienced mothers who understand what their baby’s cries mean.

  17. manuel Says:

For Dads, it is difficult to know why their babies cry..and what they want exactly. I am not sure about it at all, but I think this gadget will help DADS a lot.

  18. B Says:

why not have an analyzer that tracks the smiles and laugh of the baby

  19. scottie Says:

Wow. This is super nice. I just want to buy one for my baby. For 100$, right?

  20. John C Says:

i’m with everybody in terms of why somebody would want to spend their hard-earned $100 for this device but you can never tell because there’s that one person (or two) who’ll end up buying this to keep the company afloat. crazy…

  21. rotem Says:

    That was an amazing invention.

  22. chapelle Says:

I can’t believe that someone would actually produce a product that thinks it knows why our baby is crying? This sounds ridiculous to say the least. Sometimes, we don’t even know as mothers?

  23. F Says:

wow!!! i want to know how it works…!

  24. A Says:

Hmm .. i think that in today’s modern world we are being overpowered with technology. A device, or I would say robot, tells you why your baby is crying? The concept seems helpful and interesting, strange at the least, but are we really going to let these robots rule the planet?

  25. b Says:

So if the baby is crying because he is hungry, but this device claims he is just tired, and you don’t feed the baby because you are a big technology fan… who is responsible?

  26. Funny Babies Says:

I would love to try this out. Wheter it works or not (which i doubt) i want one.

  27. Aliyya Baby Blog Says:

    very strange….
recognizing why babies cry is mother’s natural ability

  28. p Says:

Wow, who thought of that product? I guess they’re actually able to convince a few customers that it works?!? No thanks. For me, I’ll stick with the old fashioned approach.

  29. Akshob Says:

Does one really need an analyzer to know why the baby is crying? Sounds strange I tell you. The parent can actually feel the baby’s problem, its mother in particular.
    Anyway its modern technology :-)

  30. Susana Says:

In the olden times, the mothers used to depend on themselves to understand their babies. Today the times have changed and technology is integrating with child care. I fear that there will be a time in future when technology will fully take over for a mother’s baby care, but this would be a critical situation for us!

  31. vp Says:

Sometimes it’s not the mother taking care of the little one, it’s someone else and this would help. It’s only an aid not a replacement for close attention. Anyways, we really should encourage new inventions and products and have them made right here in North America.

  32. Matt Says:

Does that really work? If it does, then I will definitely buy one. Anyway thanks for the information.

  33. Traci Says:

It’s a neat product but I’m not sure of the validity of it.

  34. narsjob Says:

    oh my!!!! are you serious?

  35. Paul Says:

This seems very silly, like the toilet that perfumes your behind!
I would buy it just to test it out. Maybe fake some cries and have fun with the gadget.
What if the baby cries for many reasons? I don’t think all babies cry equally, so how does this product work?
I wonder what is next, a dog bark translator? Actually, that would be pretty neat!

  36. shaw Says:

Nice post Dr. Moz. Good stuff. But I think mothers touch is best for baby.

  37. patrik Says:

Not sure if this tool is reliable but overall I think a mother/father should always be alert rather than depending on this tool. While this tool might be helpful especially when the parents are busy. However, hopefully no one is over depending on this tool.

  38. B Says:

Wow! this is really amazing! What will they come up with next? How do they do that. Would love to do a test, before and after feeding a baby. I do wonder on the price being so cheap for such a clever product.

  39. Jeniffer Says:

As much as I believe this product can be very useful because there are still certain times I still have to figure out my baby’s cries, this is really not the answer. I think parents should get to know their kids better and not just rely on devices such as this.
