LEGO, the Movie?
August 13th 2009 by Dr.MOZ in Movies and Media
Basing movies on successful toys seems to be the trend these days (Transformers, G.I. Joe, etc), but would you believe that Warner Brothers has a movie in development staring Lego building blocks? Plot details haven’t yet been released (image above is not from the movie), but the Lego movie has been in development for more than a year
according to a recent piece in Variety.
I can’t imagine a Lego movie really captivating audiences, but I suppose there are quite a few characters and themes to choose from in the Lego Universe…you never know. What do you think parents? Will your kids be excited to see a Lego movie?
Have fun and stay healthy,

I can see kids being excited about this just because it’s animated. Kids will pretty much watch any cartoon on tv, so long as it’s colorful.

Wow, what wont they think of next. Yeah I’m sure it will do good so long as they write it decently. I used to love Legos, so maybe Ill even go see it.

I think it’s a great idea. Legos are a classic, and can be used to build anything so why not a movie!

Lego brings you instantly back to your childhood!! Its the one toy that spans across all ages. I remeber being given a gift of lego when i was a boy and now im a proud Dad i smile as i watch my son playing with the same thin. As for it being a movie tho….. I feel its trying to exploit a little bit

That sounds like it might work. However, Transformers and G.I. Joe were cartoons first that had stories and plot lines unlike Lego which is actually based on a toy.

Well actually it’s not gonna work as full budget movie, but a short kind of cartoon series would be ok.

All the children’s like this LEGO, the Movie. Lego has come up with so many fun, and creative ways to translate their product into a variety of other mediums, it’s hard to dismiss this project the way we’ve all been quick to do with the other toy and game to movie translations which have been all the rage lately. Legos are fun.

Older brickheads and young Lego enthusiasts alike will have a blast with this highly enjoyable LEGO adventure on DVD. My son had a grand time spotting his toys amongst the action of the overall superb animation (especially the backgrounds). The story is fun and jumps around the LEGO universe in a ridiculous fashion, the humour is overall perfect for the age group this is aimed at and fun for those still young at heart.
