We were stuck between Emily and Allison when we were picking names. Although we liked Emily more, we decided against it due to its popularity.

I must say, its a very good list. Joshua and Jessica are my favorites. Absolutely perfect for twins in my opinion.

I love the list of girl’s names. Its a nice mix of traditional names with a couple of trendy popular names I’ve heard alot lately such as Chloe and Sophie. The boys list seems to be swaying on the traditional side. Interesting to see how names are trending these days.

I’m glad to see that those are the most popular names. I like the more “traditional” names than all the new “trendy” names.

When I was in school it seemed that every other classmate was named with one of the top three popular baby names of that year. There were more Jennifers and Christophers than the teachers could find ways to keep track of. After that came a contest to see how many spelling variations and original names new parents could come up with. After a few decades of breaking away from tradition, things seem to have come full circle. I think Oliver and Olivia would be very cute for fraternal twins.

i totally agree with you, have a friend and his son name is Oliver. Choosing a child name is difficult sometimes, and the names depend on the country. For ex in Germany, an usual name is Hans…

Are you sure these names aren’t for the more affluent areas.
With the state of the UK regarding teenage pregnancies I would have thought the likes of Apple, Pumpkin and all the other ridiculous names celebrities call their offspring to appear here. Just look at the names of Jamie Olivers children for a shining example.

Most of the boys popular name came from the bible. I think that says a lot. And the girls popular name mostly came from horror movies hehehehehehe just joking.

My niece’s name is Lexi and my cousin just had a baby and named her Olivia. So our family makes it on the list twice:)
My oldest daughter is pregnant right now and she is trying to choose a biblical name.

My oldest son is 2 years old and is named Oliver. Did we win a prize? ok, just kidding, he was named after a relative named Olivier, which is a very popular first name in French speaking countries. I see that Olivia is popular too, and this is how he would have been christened if he were a girl. Why are these names that popular, this is beyond me?
