You Review: BabyComfyNose Nasal Aspirator
December 29th 2009 by Dr.MOZ in Baby Products, Healthy Kids, Strange ProductsI receive quite a few pitches from inventors and manufacturers requesting product features, but very few products are actually a good fit for the baby blog. The BabyComfyNose nasal aspirator fits…and it’s so strange, it just might work! (see video above)
BabyComfyNose in their words:
“Consider for a moment the nasal aspirators in your drawers at home that don’t work. Perhaps the bulb they sent you home from the hospital with to clear newborn congestion, or the expensive battery-operated one that just doesn’t generate much suction. Now consider a vacuum nasal aspirator that really works. You’ll never need to buy another aspirator again! Baby congestion relief.”
What do you think parents? Would the BabyComfyNose make life easier for you and your kids? If you like it, visit BabyComfyNose.com to learn more. Amazing coincidence! We just purchased a babycomfynose online a couple of days ago when Zachary (2) had a nasty, snotty cold (our pediatrician suggested it). I had no hesitation going right in there and sucking out the snot – and OMG what satisfaction! In about a second, a tablespoon of snot (that’s a lot) filled up the nozzle and the bottom of the unit. I didn’t even use the tissue like they suggest and the snot got nowhere near the suction tube – quite hygienic actually. Zach is still under the weather, but at least not completely miserable and plugged up. good-bye useless bulb aspirator.

I had a similar experience to Erika. We had actually been using a similar swedish device – nose frida for a couple of years, It uses the same principle and we absolutely love it! But we got tired of having to buy the little foam rubber ‘filters’ all the time and besides, I wondered just how effective the large pore size of foam rubber is anyway. So we bought the BabyComfyNose before thanksgiving and find that it has few advantages over the swedish one. First of all, it’s easier to hold because it’s not a long tube, its easier to clean because it comes apart and most importantly, it uses regular kleenex tissue which is a great filter (large surface area, small pore size – my background is in biomedical). In short, two thumbs up for the babycomfynose, which we affectionately call the snot sucker. By the way – I contributed a testimonial and the nice people at BCN gave me a 15% discount code to share with my friends – 8463 – I don’t think they’ll mind.

Dear Dr MOZ; You may take a look at Cleanoz Nasal Aspirator. This amazing nasal aspirator is 100% hygienic as it uses disposable reservoir tips. In Europe, they also use Cleanoz in Hospitals for babies in incubators. My husband bought a CLEANOZ at babies”R”us: This snot sucker is quick, very easy to use and very hygienic. There is no cleanup necessary afterwards and no cross contamination risk! This aspirator is a must. I use it with Cleanoz Saline Preservative Free in single use applicators.

Wow! I wouldn’t have guessed that a post featuring nasal aspirators (or “snot suckers” according to James) would have inspired such detailed comments. It just goes to show, anything that makes a child feel better or parents’ lives easier will be a hit!

I like all manual aspirators better than bulbs, I tried this and Nosefrida too – you need a whole artillery when your kids are snotting all over you – and I find Nosefrida to be one step better. You could actually put a tissue in that too and not have to worry with filters.. my friend is a pediatrician and she never even uses the filter, I also like that Nosefrida has been around for a long time, I have heard of it for years…but all in all, manual aspirators are so much better than bulbs or silly electric ones.

Anything to relieve a baby’s plugged nose is a wonderful thing. Parents are often hesitant to use nose sucking devices and opt for tissue. Once you have a successful try with the device and feel comfortable you will never go back to simply wiping the nose. Its a little scary to get used to but it really helps clear out their blockage.
