Transformable Double to Single Strollers
January 14th 2010 by Dr.MOZ in Strollers, Twins and MultiplesIf you have multiple young kids in the family, you’ve probably spent a huge amount of time looking at double strollers. There really isn’t much to choose from when it comes to double strollers for infants (a topic for the near future), and there’s even less
available for double umbrella strollers for older kids. Here’s the standard umbrella stroller dilemma. Should you:
(a) go with a front-to back design where one kid will spend the day kicking the other in the back? (or)
(b) choose the infamous side-by-side (aka “double-wide) design? Note, this option is perfect for blocking doorways regardless of the number of kids actually riding in the stroller.
Ben Gray from Gray Matter Inventions says neither. Check out his video above to see his ingenious, patented fold-up stroller design. You can’t buy one yet, but Ben is looking to license the design to a manufacturer so it’s just a matter of time. Bravo Ben!
Have fun and stay healthy,

I want these strollers for my kids. I hope it’s pretty comfortable unlike the Mclaren.

Looks good, shame that it won’t be available here though. Maclaren seem to have the majority of the market over here in the UK but their pushchairs/strollers aren’t even that good!

@Jane, sometimes branding is more important then quality, guess the same goes for Maclaren

Its good. I’ll get one for my sister-she got 2 Christmas seeds(twins on December 24). I think Octamom, in US can make use of it

This is a pretty neat stroller. I wonder how long before it’ll be in the States.

Wow this looks awesome. I never knew these existed. We juggle three different strollers. 1. Our typical huge double stroller. 2. Our kinda bulky single stroller. and 3. Our umbrella stroller for quick grab and go. This might be able to take the place of all three.

Great stroller design!

That’s a lot of gear John. Your comment made me wonder about the parents with triplets out there. Perhaps Gray Matter Inventions could release a design for triplets allowing a stroller to fold-out of each side. It would be six feet wide, so I’m not sure where you could go with it.
