The Feedaway Portable High Chair by Belkiz
February 4th 2010 by Dr.MOZ in Green Products, High Chairs
Long ago in a land far away where pouched animals play, a company named Belkiz was born. This company had a mission to create economical, safe, and portable high chairs out of 100% recycled cardboard. I’m happy to announce that the dream was realized and
the easy-to-assemble Feedaway is now available in Australian baby stores Styled Baby and Low and Behold. Featuring a non-toxic food-grade coating and three-point safety harness, this 2.2 pound design is the first high chair I’ve ever seen that’s more portable than the baby.
Great work Belkiz! I think your Feedaway will prove to be the perfect high chair for traveling parents, and expecting grandparents’ homes everywhere.
Have fun and stay healthy,
Dr.MOZ

Oh my gosh this is such a good idea, and it has a really cute design on it!! Is this available in America? How much would it be? I will be telling my friends who have children about this amazing traveling highchair!! Thanks for the new product!

I’m glad you liked it Katie. They aren’t in the US market yet, but it’s a fantastic design so I’m sure we’ll see them soon. If not, I’m sure an American company will develop a similar product so I’m rooting for Belkiz!

Now WHY didn’t someone invent that here in the US 10 yrs ago? I just love the idea that traveling parents can have such a compact & very readily available high chair in a matter of minutes! Dr. MOZ, even though they aren’t available in the US markets yet, I was so impressed and I wondered if one of the listed suppliers ships worldwide and this is what I found under StyledBaby’s FAQ: http://styledbaby.com.au/Store/WsAncillary.asp?ID=4
“Does Styled Baby Deliver Worldwide??
Yes. Absolutely. Please contact us for an exact quote so that we can ensure you are getting the best possible postage price.
Great find, Dr. MOZ can’t wait to pass it on to facebook friends and twitter

Very cute product. My niece in Australia has a three month old baby and I have told her to go and get this chair. She has also promised to pass on the information to her friends.

Be sure to let us know if she likes it Ken. Belkiz recommends using the Feedaway a maximum 30 days at 6 feeds a day, so it would be interesting to hear a review from a parent about it’s durability when used as recommended.

Awesome chair! I just love innovative design and it’s so practical – being able to store away and take with on a trip without any hassle at all
Great – anywhere in Europe you could get this ?

Yeah, the first time a kid dumps her bowl of cereal over her head, that thing is toast! There’s got to be some way to clean it without damaging the structural integrity and safety of the product.

Looks like a great product, not sure I could trust putting my child in this though. What happens when this gets wet? Does is maintain it’s strength?

I agree with Paul. I wonder how sturdy it is. I know it’s affordable, but I wouldn’t really commit to buying one. Do they have test results on the item? I saw that it can hold 20kg. But, call me a skeptic, I wouldn’t exactly test this on my son. =)

Just don’t spill any juice or milk, the mess a baby makes eating will soon break down the strength of the cardboard.
