Furniture for Kids, Designed by Kids!
February 17th 2010 by Dr.MOZ in Artsy Fartsy, Kid Furniture
Want to create fun furniture for children that kids will love? No problem, ask a kid! Designers Lee Soek-ho (4 years-old, chair) and Quentin de Coster (5 years-old, animal table) show that little people know their stuff when it comes to cool kid’s furniture. Wow, I
hope the designers received free furniture for their work!
Have fun and stay healthy,

Wow, that’s really cool. More so that the drawings look awesome when turned into furniture more than anything else. It’s certainly artistic.

I particularly like the first one, I’ve never seen a chair quite like it. Though the animal table would be great if it had the head of an animal.

i don’t know how useful it is, but for sure looks fun!

@ H – I think the angled compartment that jets out is the animal’s head. It would be fun if it had a face painted on it wouldn’t it?

What fun ideas! I’ve been blown away by some of the creative stuff my 5-year-old comes up with. Cool to see some of their creative ideas come to life!

Wow! This shows that kids have a far greater aesthetic sense than adults.

I love the chair with four legs. It’s so cute. Is the zebra the inspiration for this design?

I love the multilegged chair, I come across some of these designs when I’m sourcing in China but we can’t pull enough volume together to buy a full container. it’s a shame but you really have to have a special home to make these work or they become eye candy on the internet rather than eye candy in a kid’s room.

Oh my God I love it! My 4 year old girl will surely enjoy this! I like Daniel’s idea of a zebra design too I’m sure my girl will love it.

It’s amazing the creativity that springs from the little ones. My 5 year old daughter is always trying to personalize her bedroom furniture with her colored sharpies. These are some amazing designs!

By “special” do you mean they’ll fit best in Tim Burton’s home?
Kidding, but you must admit that the chair would have been a great fit in Beetlejuice. One thing I’ve noticed through the years, many of our more celebrated modern artists aren’t quite as eccentric as people make them out to be….they’ve simply found a way to maintain their childhood creativity.

It is a matter of fact that the children are very creative, their imaginations aren’t limited to those like of the grown ups. They have a world of their own and so would love to have everything the way they think. Love the look of the furniture given the shape of the giraffe and dogs. I think that not only the kids but also the grown ups would be fascinated by such beautifully designed furniture.

We Purchased this chair shortly after my sons 1st birthday about a year ago. We loved it from the get go. My son loves to sit and read in this chair. It also helps him from standing with his nose to the TV, if I find him doing this I simply ask him where his chair is and he runs and sits a good distance away. It’s super light so he pulls it all over the house to wherever he is playing. I’ve washed cover 3 times and it still looks like new (I wash in cold and hang to dry). Also the pockets on the side are great, my son likes to hide his favorite small toys and books in them. He’s never tipped while sitting in this chair and has plenty of room to grow into it for many more years of use to come. Over all I think this product is awesome.
