Send a Toy on a Trip with Toy Traveling?

March 4th 2010 by Dr.MOZ in Books and Toys, Strange Products

I know that I’ve featured quite a few strange kid-related products and services through the years, but Prague-based Toy Traveling may have just taken the lead in the crazy race.  How it works in their words:

  1. Choose the fare you like most.
  2. Fill in and send the order form.
  3. After we confirm your order, pay the chosen amount.
  4. Send your favorite toy to our address. Please ship your friend in a hard robust box which can also be used for the return trip. (Valid for the BASIC fare)
  5. We will confirm arrival of your friend by email.
  6. Your toy is going to experience an adventurous and unforgettable trip around Prague (Czech Republic).
  7. After the trip is over, we will deliver your friend to you in order, together with all the items of the price package you’ve chosen.

Yes, you read that right…send your “favorite toy” on a vacation to Prague. The trip’s services vary by individual package, but the most basic fair includes  (a) 30 pictures on disc, (b) a certificate of successful visit, (c) a Facebook profile (d) a surprise, and (e) daily communication by email. Toy Traveling claims to be “the First global Travel Agency for Teddy bears and Cuddly toys” and of course, the company has a Facebook page to learn more.

I know, you probably think you’ve seen just about everything by now don’t you? Drop by next week…there’s a lot more crazy to come.

Have fun and stay healthy,

Dr.MOZ

That’s an awesome idea, it reminds me of a friend of mine that took a Santa made of paper around the world with him when he went travelling.

  2. Marko Says:

Wow nice one. I will spread the word surely, but I’m thinking, why only Prague :)

Yes, you featured quite a few strange kid-related products, and that’s what I really like about your blog. I love the items you recommend and I usually end up buying some of them. Thanks.
And WOW…this toy traveling stuff really is the craziest thing I ever heard…even though the idea is unique and interesting, I don’t think it’s “practical” . But just for fun, I like it.

@ Akexis – It would be fun to see your favorite toy globe trotting as a child. I would have been worried that it may never find it’s way back, but they seem to make “security” a top concern.

@ Marko – It appears to be a new business, and their website mentions that they are open to other locations. I definitely recommend contacting Toy Traveling if you live in a location popular with stuffed animal tourists, and would like to expand their territory. ;)

That is too funny. I love the idea and am going to give it a try!

This is crazy, crazy, crazy, and still does it have any clients? hm…

You have given me a great idea. I thought of the lady out here in Arizona who started packing up tumbleweeds and sending them across the country. Then there was the dude that was diving for golf balls in Florida until an alligator bite him.
So your blog has given me a brain scan. My dad and brother carve cut little owls and bears so I’m thinking I’ll do like the travelocity thing on Amazing Race with the Gnome and send them around the world. What do you think????

  8. Quatinn Says:

That is an absurd business. I guess there is a company doing everything else today, why not toy vacations?

  9. Sara Says:

Great idea, it should be implemented everywhere.

  10. Beckie Meighen Says:

In the event you really like a little something, set it totally free. If it comes back again, it is yours. If it doesn’t can come back again, it was certainly not meant to be.

  11. Dr.MOZ Says:

@ Beckie – I suppose that works for toys too!
