Baby Shower Gift Idea: The MeasureMe Stick
March 23rd 2010 by Dr.MOZ in Baby Shower Gifts, Gift Ideas
Looking for a baby shower gift idea that your new parents will grow to love for years to come? The bamboo MeasureMe Stick by Studio 1am might be the perfect gift that keeps on giving. It comes in three different color combos, includes great looking stainless steel
mounting pegs, and unlike the wall…the family can actually take this with them if they move. The catch, good design will cost ya my friend. The MeasureMe Stick is a hefty $120 at the Yanko Design store which is quite a bit more than most of us can afford to spend on a baby shower gift.
My prescription for the baby budget blues, make your own! All you’ll need is a piece of wood (preferably over 6 feet long), a ruler (to mark each inch), sand paper, and a few cans of paint. Your creation may not turnout quite a “mod” as the MeasureMe Stick, but your growth chart will be from the heart…not to mention $90 cheaper.
Have fun and stay healthy,

In addition to this idea, I wish to add one new suggestion. We can give a very impressive detail book to keep a note of each and every new move taking place in a child’s life.

This is fantastic! Extremely useful and practical. Not to mention that it’s great as a gift…I usually get stuck for good ideas when it comes to baby showers. Those times are over now!
Thanks.

Great idea, we had to remove a door frame when we moved house as it was marked with my sons hight over 14 years. This looks nicer and costs less than a new door frame.

this is a brilliant idea.
Just one other suggestion, you can buy stencils very cheaply or even make your own easily, you can then paint on these stencils to the measure me stick. Then just paint over with a durable clear acrylic paint. I think this would look just as good as the bought one.

Finally, a good site that isn’t in my face trying to constantly sell me something. Thanks, please keep up the good work.

That’s a really great gift! At my house we just have little scratches in the kitchen wall! That would be much nicer to have!
