Portable Toddler Toilets: Little Jack’s Box!

June 11th 2010 by Dr.MOZ in Strange Products, Toddler Products

Parents with toddlers know how a relaxing trip with the family can instantly turn into a frantic search for a public toilet. The only thing worse that sprinting around with your crying toddler under your arm…not finding the “potty” in time. Your emergency toilet searches

may be behind you (sorry, couldn’t resist the pun) thanks to Little Jack’s Box by The Brown Corporation. That’s right, the manufacturer is actually called The Brown Corporation.

Available in pink or blue, these compact cardboard boxes are designed for children 1-5 years-of-age and come equipped with 5 disposable bags and tissue. Need “to go” in a hurry? Simply unfold the box, insert the disposable bag, and let nature take it’s course. To learn more about Little Jack’s Box, drop by their blog or visit the official US or European websites.

Fantabulous innovation for today’s generation babies! No more frantic moments in a family trip. Super thanks to the brown corporation and to Dr. MOZ.

@Josh and Athena – If you really like the idea, be sure to investigate The Brown Corporation’s full line of products. They have full-sized products for adults too! ;)

This is pretty cool, though I’m not sure of the dimensions of this box any idea how big it is?

  5. barbara Says:

Well this is a great product for babies. It will be very useful for the trips. Thanks a lot ,Dr.MOZ.

  6. Dr.MOZ Says:

Just in time for a summer road-trip eh Barbara?

@ Clinton – The Little Jack’s Box is 26cm x 26cm x 26cm and advertised as being suitable for kids 1-5. I’ve me a few 3 year-olds that would probably crush something this size, but have no fear. The Brown Corporation has engineered an adult version for more…um, extreme use with a “bursting force” of 225lbs/inch2.

Happy travels and may your Little Jack’s Box never reach the bursting force!

Wow! this is cute. I like this

  8. chris Says:

$20 for a cardboard box! And what I can’t cope with is that this box presumably, once used, will have to be transported to an acceptable disposal point. Box full of poo in a hot car – Yum! :)

  9. Raymond Raygan Says:

Coolest stuff I ever seen! The Brown’s Corporation really makes everything easy for us travelers.

  10. bogman Says:

Aren’t Jack in the boxes supposed to spring out and scare you? I hope not in this case!

  11. Dr.MOZ Says:

@ Chris – It can be reused…assuming your little one can keep his/her “business” in the attached bag. My suggested method; dispose of the bag before going back into the hot car. ;)

  12. Stephanie Says:

Cool. Can be very useful for babies.

  13. Biggi Says:

Wow, this is great. We have just brought something similar made out of plastic since I wanted a portable loo for my toddler that suits into my bag. However this one looks even more compact. I also like the idea of disposing of the “business” without having to clean the whole potty.
I am just wondering how many times it can be reused before loosing its stability?

  14. Brian Says:

That is adorable and a great way to teach children how to use the potty at the same time. So adorable!!

  15. Elva Says:

    haaaaaaaaa very creative

  16. Buzz Says:

Great idea that will put the fun back in traveling with toddlers. Hum, Little Jack’s Box pretty close to Jack in The box. Either way one if for the input and the other for outpoop.

  17. trisha Says:

That’s nice, I do have a 1 year old baby and I think this would be useful!

  18. JayZ Says:

I’m LOLing at all the buns, err puns! The Brown Corporation? Company URL at shitboxusa.com? Awesome! I wonder how long that box’s going to last though. It’s a little expensive although reusable. It’s perfect for a day at the beach and I see it has its own bag.

The scenario you painted is very familiar to parents. I’ve experienced it first-hand. There’s nothing more “toddler emergency” than being on the road and you just saw a sign that says the next gas station is 20 miles away. As a parent to 2 toddlers, I highly recommend this travel potty. But it can never replace the potty and otherkids furniture you have at home. Although it’s the perfect complement.

  19. thl Says:

i love the name, the idea and especially the illustrated instructions!!!

  20. Mike Says:

Now I have really seen it all. And it collapses! Very good!!

  21. Nathan Says:

If they use it then that’s awesome. I think most parents might be careful with letting their children poop in a box. That could create bad habits in the future.

  22. Jandry Says:

Great product idea! Something that every parent with small children should have at least one of in the house!

  23. doc Says:

This is pretty cool. Can be very useful for babies.

  24. Matthew Smith Says:

is that mr. hanky jumping out of that box?

  25. Franklin Says:

A very useful product while traveling.. Should get one for my grandchild.

  26. Alison Says:

Like the concept but cardboard and moisture don’t really go do they? Bound to be a few little mishaps! This travel potty however ticks all my boxes…

  27. Dr.MOZ Says:

@ Alison – Little Jack’s Box definitely has limitations, but it’s not a bad option if you want something extremely light for a short trip.

The “My Carry Potty” looks like a fantastic option for parents looking for a more durable product! The only problem I can see with your portable “potty” might be the steps needed for cleaning. I’ll visit the link and study it in more detail to see what it says about keeping it clean. Thanks for the product tip!

  28. Jen Says:

I will have to check into that little box. Up until now I have just kept a potty seat with disposable bags in my car. That potty seat has been a life savor on more than one occasion, but it is large and in the way. Thanks for sharing this.

  29. Greg Says:

This is a great idea and is great for long road trips where you can be driving in the middle of nowhere. It does not look that stable to me though. I guess there is a maximum weight limit to it. Otherwise, collapsing into your crap wouldn’t be too nice an experience!!!
