Spend a time with the whole family is a great idea. Family camping is one best alternatives for the bonding moments. I guess, the best place is where you can enjoy the moment with your family, you can learn something and of course we have to consider the safety of the place.

I love camping but there’s nothing worse (especially with kids) than being caught in bad weather. This is only a good idea if there’s sun around!

Yup.. communion with nature is a good way to unwind from the buzzling sound of the city. The family will surely enjoy this new experience. A good itinerary will make things a lot more fun and exciting.

This is great. I wish they had some sort of program up here in NJ. The thing is tho, that there are indeed beautiful places in almost all of the 50 states, all you have to do is have initiative to go out and find them

What a nice idea- great way to get the kids outside and enjoy the great outdoors! I think it can be a really great bonding experience as well. You don’t even have to go far- there’s probably some beautiful national parks in the mountains just a few hours drive from home.

We are heading back to South Dakota to visit family which is usually a pretty routine, but we are making this trip lot of fun with a stay in the black hill. Nothing like cabin life and wilderness to make it feel like a whole new trip.

I am a big explorer, I live next to a National Park and I have woods behind my house so that makes it easy for me to explore. Actualy I recently went on a hike. I also think that this program is really cool so you can find all sorts of places to find out about!

I miss going camping with my family. Now that we’re all grown up it’s hard to get together. Hopefully when I have a family of my own we’ll be able to do this again.

I think that this is a great thing. Family camping should be on every parent’s schedule for the summer. Failing that, the least you can do is make sure that your kids get outside every day. The more exercise they get whether it’s in the form of play or organized sports/activities, the healthier they’ll be

Family Camping trips should be a part of every family’s summer adventures. It’s a great way to get a way from the hustle and bustle of our stimuli filled lives. I recommend anyone in the Midwest to take a few hour drive down to the Smoky Mountains. There are tons of great camping sites. I like Smokemont- it has a creek, hiking paths, horse back riding and is relatively close to Cherokee. The discovertheforest.org is a pretty neat little site. Great for beginner campers. There’s so much out there just go try something. Have fun.

@ Mich – …but all the emergencies happen in the city. Just take everyone you know with you to the greeny places and you won’t have anything to worry about.
