I believe more baby products need strict oversight and regulation. Especially ones shipped from overseas.

How shocking! It makes you wonder what other products there are that may not be safe because there was that big pushchair recall recently as well after children got their fingers caught in the hinge.

This issue doesn’t shock me coz I have also experience this problem at home and I really returned it to the store. Safety cribs for our babies should always be consider by the manufacturers. They should have strict quality control or testing for cribs.

The whole subject is shocking. I cannot believe that manufacturers do not test these cribs more extensively. I also think that a big problem comes in when we have to assemble to cribs ourselves. Incorrect assembly can cause injury to your baby. The stationary cribs recall you refer to has also been because they can be incorrectly assembled. There should be no margin for error in an item like this.

The drop-side hardware can fail, causing the drop-side to detach from the crib or fall to the dropped position. When the drop side detaches, even partially, it creates a space in which an infant or toddler can become entrapped and suffocate or strangle. Drop side incidents can also occur due to incorrect assembly and with age related wear and tear. Additionally, when drop-side hardware fails and/or disengages, an infant or toddler can be injured by falling out of the crib.

Why is it that it was done just right now? as mentioned that half of these cribs were manufactured 10 yrs ago. It could be possible that many kids had already had an accident or fall while staying or sleeping on these low quality cribs.

ReCalling cribs even after 10-years is really unbelievable…but true. If these have been working perfectly for past ten years, have already proved the quality. But, above all is the safety, and style comes later. Thanks for such a bold step.

I just don’t understand why their is not more regulations within testing and manufacturing cribs, stop looking at the profit margin and start paying more attention to the safety of the cribs.
