Etsy Finds: Modern Growth Charts and Nursery Art by Giraffes and Stuff
July 14th 2010 by Dr.MOZ in Baby Shower Gifts, Etsy Finds, Nursery
It’s time for an indie designer feature baby fans, and today’s Etsy find is…drumroll please…Giraffes and Stuff! Not only will you find a colorful collection of canvas growth charts and wall prints, but their matching wall decals will make designing a modern
nursery a snap. Are you in the market for a baby shower gift? If so, I recommend shooting over to the gift box section because the canvas growth chart boxes are nearly sold out. To learn more, visit the Giraffes and Stuff Etsy store or click over to their official website at GiraffesAndStuff.com.
Have fun and stay healthy,
Doctor’s Note: Growth charts are shipped rolled and will uncurl naturally when hung, so whatever you do…don’t iron that print!

I really love how baby/children designs have evolved from being very cheesy and so ultracolorful to designs that appeal to adults as well.
Hey Doc, I’m guessing you’ve ironed a growth chart print already, haven’t you?

Hi Chris – The designs really have improved haven’t they? In addition to the color improvements, brands have been doing a great job creating modular designs allowing the furniture to be changed as the child grows. As far as art is concerned, what ‘mod’ adult wouldn’t love these vintage bicycle designs…not to mention the decals!

This is just amazing and is a far cry from the boring growth charts we had when I was a kid. I love that modern nursery decor has come so far, and that designers are realizing that people with kids want to be stylish and not just bright and ugly!
Thanks MOZ for sharing this, I’m off to place my order right now!

The owls are adorable! I completely agree with Chris and the Dr. Just like childrens movies now appeal to an adult audience through clever script writing. Baby designs today are so chic! If only I weren’t an adult and over my growth stage, I would def have one of those charts!

These are really great! My daughter is 2 years old and I’ve been meaning to get her a growth chart. I have such pleasant memories of going to my grandmother’s house and her writing our heights down in pencil on this one particular wall.
Things certainly have come a long way since that!!

I want to throw a baby shower for my friend, and I want to have a different baby shower theme than the current party that is planned. As of now I am browsing the net to find a very good theme for a surprise baby shower for my friend. Thanks for a very informative post.

Those are some fantastic designs for nurseries. I have to agree with Chris in the fact that designs for childrens products have come a long way. It’s nice to see more modern patterns and cartoon designs. I’m also enjoying the new colour pallets (Adding browns and oranges rather than strictly sticking to primary colours or pink and blue) and the use of textures as seen on the owl image on the far left. I can already think of several friends of mine who would love this for their toddlers.

I just love this idea! When I was a kid we always put a mark on the wall and that was very special, but when we moved we were unable to take it with us. This is a great idea for parents to keep such a special memory.
