Etsy Find: Kangaroo with Joey Rocking Toy
August 10th 2010 by Dr.MOZ in Etsy Finds, Wooden Toys
If you’ve been looking for a really nice gift for a toddler that will last generations, I recommend visiting Rocking Frog’s shop on Etsy. Each rocking toy animal is manufactured by hand using quality, ecologically responsible materials. As seen above, the
Kangaroo with Joey rocking toy was created from natural bamboo and coated with a special non-toxic polyurethane finish.
Shoot the Rocking Frog an email if you don’t see the animal you were hoping to purchase. Not only do they take animal requests for rocking toys, but they are also open to creating completely different types of wooden toys. Hummm…I wonder how much a life-sized moose with a stethoscope would cost to ship?
Have fun and stay healthy,

Wow ! This is great. As we all know, children are asking their parents to buy them psp, ds nintendo, or any other gadgets that will satisfy their venture in the world of games. But this toy is a little bit different. You can have this not only as a toy but also another attraction at home.
I would love to have a dolphin.=)…By the way, how big is this?

Wow that’s a great find! Need to see if that’s available near here for my kids.

I thought you would like these
@William – They are created by hand and only sold through Etsy, so you’ll need to check out the store for more info. Your shipping will be between $30-$90 depending on how close you are to the buyer’s location in Cary, NC.
@ Lyan – The Kangaroo With Joey measures 39″ long by 25″ high by 12″ wide (seat height is 16.5″). I would imagine that each is a little different considering it is handmade and some animals may be longer/shorter than the kangaroo.

Man i bet that took a long time to hand craft. I see the price these guys charge for wooden totems and boy I wish I had that kind of money or at least the skill to make something like that.

Wow Fine. As we all know, children ask their parents to buy PSP, Nintendo DS, or any other gadgets that will satisfy their business in the gaming world. But this toy is a little different. You can have, not only as a toy, but also another attraction in the house.

Wow, this toy reminded me of the one I used to have at home. Today, you rarely get to see toys like these. We’re in the dawn of a new age so it seems. These article about a wooden toy, not surprisingly, brings nostalgic memories. When I get to have a kid someday, I’ll make sure he/she would have the joy of wooden toys.

@Hussein – I can imagine how much this would cost to ship to the UK, so I did a little research and found Creations in Wood based in South Wales. It looks like they have a great collection of wooden rock toys as well!

We Love Etsy!
But believe it or not I had no idea they had items like hand made wooden kids toys.
We usually cruise etsy for Jewlery and art.
I scored a very nice handmade necklace for my girlfriend there. Paid $100, it would have cost that much or more if it were mass produced and sold at a big jewlry chain.
So The Etsy artist made money, My girlfriend was happy and I made out as well…so to speak!

Very creative design. It looks more suitable for outdoor use. Appear quite solid.
