CPSC Recalls: Dangerous Child Safety Products

July 28th 2011 by Dr.MOZ in Family Safety, Recalls

I’ve documented quite a few troubling CPSC recalls on the baby blog through the years, but this could be the first time that I’ve seen products designed to keep children safe being recalled. In total, over 45,000 of these dangerous Prime-Line products have been sold in

hardware stores across the country. Please take a moment to ensure that you aren’t using one of these recalled “safety” products.

Visit each recall’s link (above) for detailed product information including “sell dates”, distributors, and model numbers.

Have fun and stay healthy,

Just hours after posting these recalls, additional CPSC recall warning went up for the following:

    - Phil and Teds strollers recalled
    - Disney-branded pogo sticks
    - Fisher Price Little People Builders’ Load’n Go Wagons

I thought you would like to know!

Thanks for sharing Dr.Moz, it’s useful to me since i recently had a baby. Sometimes these things aren’t shared by the government.

Wow, there’s a lot being recalled right now. And safety items, at that! I believe we have those exact outlets in our house.

@ James – Congratulations with the baby news! If you found the post useful, I’d suggest subscribing to the CPSC’s email list. Choose the “infant/child category” and you’ll receive an email each time a baby or toddler product is recalled.

To understand possible dangers we need to see the world from a baby’s eyes. For sure everything looks much bigger and there are a lot of pointy items which may look inviting. So, it’s better to be safe.

    Hi Dr. MOZ,
Like you said in your post, it’s hard to believe that the very products we buy to keep our children safe can become a hazard in and of themselves. Thanks for the link to the CPSC’s email list. I think every parent should be connected to that list to insure we have a fighting chance at keeping our kids safe. It’s good to know that there is a watchdog group like the CPSC looking our for our well being and eager to get the word out when dangers are reported.
